Learn about the "who/what/where/why/how" of healthy food concocting for veggie lovers.
Saturday, June 9th, 2018, 4:00 – 5:30pm
The theme for this months class will be an obvious throwback to the Beatles by making submarine sandwiches that are chocked full of yummy yellow foods. As you imagine, there's a lot to choose from and we will season it with (Sargeant) Pepper, but sans hallucinagenicity. It will be an examination/exploration into making food taste good with only one color. Good tasting options will abound. Ridiculous, sure; good for future wins?--you can bet on it. You know what I'm talking about, but if you've never really seen it with your own eyes, then do this! While EarthSave Louisville encourages plant-based eating as a lifestyle, we always consider the dialogue encompassing transitioning from meat/cheese/hydrogenation into something more healthful, inexpensive, flavorful, and life supporting. If you come, bring a friend. Please RSVP to nate at 502-299-9520, and inform us if this is your first time or not so as to provide orientation as needed. Right after this cooking class is a potluck so you might choose to attend both cooking class and potluck. Who knows -- it's your life! Come and be fed in all kinds of ways.
Spend a late afternoon with the thoughtful foodie teacher who uses heart and mind to give us what we need: The opportunity to make and eat Yummy/Healthy food! Nate Pederson guides us through this cornucopia of flavors and textures. How can we top what we have taught in past classes? This is the class for those who say to themselves:"I should eat more veggies, but I just..." Seriously, come and see--every month--for free. Learn about the "who/what/where/why/how" of healthy food concocting for veggie lovers. Bored of eating healthy? Zest it up with the good stuff; be good to your tummy! Are you ready to learn? In the mood for some kitchen magic? Will you take the DIY challenge?
Aren't we a little curious about this!? This class will be vegan, and low oil/nuts. Spices of all kinds will entertain our taste-buds. Some of the demos and concepts might make your eyes pop and your mouth salivate. Time to re-think everything--together!
Avoid kicking yourself later on for not getting involved in the ground floor of this-- just attend and be done already! Healthy cooking has a long history of empowering body, mind and spirit all around the world. Get exposed to this totally healthy panoply of tastes and textures. The class will contain practical hints that have been garnered along the way. This would be a great time to ask him all kinds of questions for secrets, tips, etc.
As is always the case, we will touch on
the virtues of Low-Carbon veganism and carbon footprint-analysis. We
will rethink the impacts of our food choices on the planet as well as
on our health.
If you are thinking
of starting out or are perhaps a seasoned veteran to healthy
plant-based food prep/cooking, then you will find yourself glad that
you came all the same. Inspiration is free and contagious.
This is a Free Class and cameras are allowed.

Hey, why not learn new patterns...one cooking class at a time?
Professor and author Michael Pollan's latest book shames us for our country's inability to cook fresh vegetables. Let's all strive to turn shame into kick-ass confidence...starting here!
As with every month, a plant based potluck follows at 6pm -- feel free to stay for it."Hey, good lookin'; What ya got cookin'?" Climate Reality and Inconvenient Truth guru, Al Gore went vegan a few years ago; he probably needs to take this class too!

===================
EarthSave leans toward the thinking that helping to save the earth is only a bite away. Each bite turns into a meal, so helping the earth becomes a meal away. Each meal comes from a recipe, so helping the earth is thus a recipe away. Each recipe is taught and/or tried, so helping the earth is one class away. This is why we want you to come to EarthSave's cooking class! Through this class, you can start bringing habits of health to your body while moving the planet towards the same…one bite/meal/recipe/class at a time! If you can RSVP, then do so (502 299 9520 or louisville@earthsave.org; not strictly required). New menu and ideas every 2nd Saturday. Come often...and stay for the potluck that follows at 6pm.
This event is not only valuable, it’s free; a freewill basket for the chef will be passed.
Absolutely everyone is welcome: Spread the word!
